VERNAL- W. Rex Taylor, 65, Vernal, died of natural causes Oct. 6 in a Vernal hospital. Born Feb. 25, 1903, Levan, Juab County, to Roy and Roxa Anderson Taylor. Married Cynthia Lyman, May 16, 1928, Manti LDS Temple; she died April 30, 1968. Former rancher. Member LDS Church. Survivors: daughter, Mrs. Pete (Daun) Willard, Vernal; 3 grandchildren, great-grandchild; brother, sisters, Sherman, Meeker, Colo.; Mrs. Doris Ross, Vernal; Mrs. Vera Huber, Mrs. Della Nyberg, both Lapoint; Mrs. Zelma Jensen, Bremerton, Wash. Funeral Wednesday 1 p.m., Maeser LDS Ward Chapel. Friends call Vernal Mortuary Tuesday 7-9 p.m., Wednesday prior to services. Burial Maeser-Fairview Cemetery, Vernal.

Funeral Honors W. Rex Taylor In Maeser Ward
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Maeser LDS Chapel for W. Rex Taylor, age 65, who died Sunday in the Uintah County Hospital of a heart condition.
Mr. Taylor was born February 25, 1903 in Levan, Utah to Roy and Roxa Anderson Taylor. He married Cynthia Lyman May 16, 1928 in the Manti LDS Temple. She preceded him in death April 30, 1968.
He is survived by a daughter, Daun Willard, Vernal; three grandsons, Ray Huber, Logan; Rex Huber, Hume, Virginia; and Ralph Huber, Provo; a great-grandson Lynn Huber; a brother, Sherman, Meeker; sisters, Zelma Jensen, Bremerton, Washington; Mrs. Roy (Vera) Huber, Della Nyberg, both of Lapoint and Mrs. Keith (Doris) Ross, Vernal.
Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, "Rex and Cynthia" endeared themselves to many people in the area by sharing their talents of music at church socials, bouquets and weddings, and will especially be remembered for their unselfish service to the bereaved at funerals.
Prayer at the mortuary was by Hank Swain. Mrs. Keith Adams played prelude and postlude music. Gene Nyberg gave the invocation.
Speakers were Hugh W. Colton and George Walkup, Musical numbers, "Little Green Valley", "That Beautiful Land" and "Home on the Range" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Keith Adams and Danna Dee Smith.
Bishop Venil Johnson gave the obituary and remarks. Carl Searle gave the benediction.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Ray, Rex and Ralph Huber, Dean and Ken Huber and Morgan Hall.
His death certificate may not be publicly available until 2018, but when it is it can be found through the Utah State Archives, and I will endeavor to update this post at that future time.
