The following are pages of the funeral address given at Vera's funeral in 1990, by her son, Clayton.  It was found in the personal albums of Doris Sessions.

Roy Taylor death particulars

Roy Taylor was Vera's father.

The following is a brief written memory of Roy from his grandson, Gene, and gives further details surrounding his death.

Writing transcribed:
"I was ordained a Deacon by my Grandfather Taylor, Dec. 21, 1941.  He was always "Papa" to Loa and I.  We were with him so much when we were kids and heard the family call him Papa, so we called him Papa too.
He said the opening prayer to the Christmas party Fri. Dec. 19, 1941.  Ordained me a Deacon on Sunday, the last church ordinance he performed.
He died the next Friday Dec. 26, 1941, of a heart attack.  He went out to close the chicken coop door after the chicken's had gone to roost.  When my grandmother opened the door, he was lying in the yard on his face.  She got a pillow and a blanket and went out, turned him over, put the pillow under his head, covered him up and ran to her son Rex's place a half mile away.  There was snow on the ground.  She was so out of breath all she could say was, "Rex come quick".  She didn't think Papa was dead.  Rex and George Walkup took her back home and got Papa in the house.  He was dead."

Whatever happened to Cleora?

Cleora Kay New married Vera's youngest brother, Martin Taylor, when he was in the military during WWII.  Some of the family didn't regard Cleora very well, thinking she married Martin for the military benefits, so not much more family info could be found regarding what happened to her after Martin went Missing in Action.

Through some online detective work, I've discovered these various documents about Cleora:

 I located Cleora on the 1930 census, and extracted vital dates and her parents names to help with later identification on future records.

Some further sleuthing led me to a marriage record of a "Cleora K Taylor" marrying a "Carl B. Stephens" on 26 Aug 1946 in Montana.
This would indicate that after Martin went missing in 1944, Cleora maintained her married name, moved from the midwest out to Walla Walla, WA where she met Mr. Stephens, and married him in Montana 3 years after her marriage to Martin in South Dakota.  Interesting to note that both Cleora and Carl were born in Kansas.

Cleora K. Stephens
Cleora K. Stephens, 85, of Kennewick, died Dec 3 in Kennewick.
She was born in Norcatur, Kan., and lived in the Tri-Cities for 56 years.
She was a homemaker.
Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

This later evidence concludes that Cleora and Carl Stephens lived out the rest of their lives in Washington, raising a family.  I have found lingering possibilities of descendants of theirs from online sources, but have not as yet had success in contacting them in person.
Still, it's an interesting conclusion to what was once a family mystery as to her whereabouts.

 Ruth Eva Nichols Taylor was Vera's sister-in-law.  She married Vera's brother, Ralph.

Ruth E. Nichols Williams was born April 10, 1908.  For several years she had a summer home that she and her third husband, Albert Williams had restored.  In Nov. 2000, Ruth moved back to Grand Junction to be near friends and relatives.  She passed away April 29, 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Patsy of Grand Junction, CO; one stepdaughter, Reita Lynne Williams Poulton of Oakley, ID; and one stepson, Dewey Charles Williams of Caldwell, ID; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A family service was held May 2nd at the Fountains Retirement Home in Grand Junction, CO.

Ruth E. Nichols Williams

April 10, 1908- April 29, 2002

Ruth E. Nichols Williams was born April 10, 1908, to Clarence Charles J. and Eva King Nichols, near DeBeque, CO.  She was the youngest of nine children, all of whom have preceded her in death.  She grew up in the Molina/Mesa area attending school at the Bull Creek school at Molina.  Ruth married Murry Collins, of Clifton, CO and one child, Patsy Ruth Collins was born to them, she survives.  The marriage ended in divorce.  Ruth attended the School of Cosmetology in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She later married Ralph Taylor, and together they operated several barbershops at military installations in the Salt Lake area.  Ralph entered the Navy in World War II and Ruth took over management of the shops, at one time she managed four barber shops and three beauty salons.  Ralph passed away in 1950.  Ruth continued in the business for several years.  A year and a half later, she married Albert Williams.  He passed away in 1976.

In Ruth's lifetime she was successful in many areas, she was a licensed realtor and a successful developer.  She started painting when she was 64 and became an outstanding artist.  Ruth was a talented poet and had a book of her poems published.

Ruth also found time to raise a lovely garden and with her flower arrangements won countless ribbons and awards in the Salt Lake County fairs and in southern Idaho, where, for several years she had a summer home that she and her third husband, Albert Williams had restored.

In November 2000, Ruth moved back to Grand Junction to be near friends and relatives.  She passed away April 29, 2002, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

We will miss her.

Henry Miner

Lifetime Northwest resident Henry R. Miner, 96, of Bremerton, died Tuesday at Bremerton Convalescent Center.

He was born Aug. 10, 1888, in Seattle.

In his younger years, he traveled around the country as an amateur boxer.

In 1916, he moved to Bremerton and went to work for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.

Also that year, in March, he married the former Cenci Schmauser.  She died May 1, 1969.

In August 1932, Mr. Miner started the Glenwood Dairy, and ..... .... he retired from PSNS to devote all his time to the venture.  He closed the dairy in 1967.

On Nov. 1, 1969, he married the former Zelma Jensen in Bremerton.

A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Mr. Miner enjoyed traveling, gardening and walking.

Survivors include his wife; a sons, Dan Miner of Olalla; two stepsons, Kenneth Jensen of Bremerton and Clair Jensen of Santa Clara Calif.; one step-daughter, Althea Gray of Salt Lake City, Utah; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and 23 step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Services will take place on Monday at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard.

Clarence Jensen
Clarence Jensen, 74, 2712 East 16th St., died Sunday at Horton Nursing Home.
Mr. Jensen was born on Feb. 27, 1894, in Moroni, Utah, to Andrew and Clara Jensen.  During his youth he worked in the Aimes Shipyard in Seattle, returning to Utah in 1918.  He owned and operated a coal mine near his home town until 1942 when he came to Bremerton and was employed as a chipper and caulker at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.  He retired in 1961 after 18 years of employment at PSNS.
His hobbies were growing roses and walking.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Zelma, of the family home; a daughter, Mrs. Jessie Gray, Salt Lake City; three sons, Clarence T. Jensen, Santa Clara, Calif., and Kenneth E. Jensen and Forrest Dean Jensen, both of Bremerton; a brother, Lionel Jensen, Centerville, Utah, and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2225 Perry Ave.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Funeral Chapel.

This photo states that is was taken at a possible funeral in 1969.

My guess is that this was taken at Clarence Jensen's funeral in 1968 as it shows his wife Zelma in the middle of their four children.

As Clarence died in the last 50 years, his death certificate will not become publicly available until around the year 2018.  When it is available I will post it here.

Zelma Miner

Zelma H. Taylor Jensen Miner, 92, of Bremerton died yesterday at the home of her son, Kenneth Jensen, in Bremerton, following an extended illness.

She was born Dec. 2, 1895, in Levan, Utah, the eldest of 12 children.

She married Clarence Jensen Oct. 31, 1917 in Salt Lake City.  During World War I, they moved to Seattle where Mr. Jensen worked at Todd Shipyard.

After the war, they returned to Utah and owned and operated the Little Water Coal Mine at LaPoint, Utah.  In 1942, they returned to Washington and both worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until retirement.

Mr. Jensen died in 1968.  She married Henry Miner on Nov. 1, 1969.  He died in March of 1985.

Mrs. Miner was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She had many hobbies, including cooking and sewing.

A son, Forrest Jensen, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Jensen of Bremerton, and Clarence Jensen of Santa Clara, Calif.' a daughter, Althea Gray of Salt Lake City; a stepson, Dan Miner of Winlock, Okanogan County; three sisters, Della Nyberg and Vera Huber, both of LaPoint, Utah, and Doris Ross of Vernal, Utah; a brother, Sherman Taylor of Clinton, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Bremerton Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Perry Avenue.  Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery under direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Deltha Taylor obituary

Services for Deltha Taylor, age 72, were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Monday, June 26th at 2 p.m.

Wayne Nielsen gave the opening prayer followed with the eulogy by Craig Neilsen.  Jarrell Massey officiated as speaker.  As a duet, Daun White and Dorothy Peltier sang "My Happiness" and "Beyond the Sunset".  John Barney gave the closing prayer.

Serving as pallbearers were Rex Cook, Grant Nielsen, Grant Ainge, H.G. Berthelson, Wiley Berthelson and Lloyd Morgan.  Serving as honorary pallbearers were Joe Dunn, Floyd Robbins, Byron Ottosen and Marvin Carstens.

Burial was in Highland Cemetery with Gene Nyberg giving the dedication of the grave.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband, Sherman, of Meeker, two sons- Sherman Lynn of Sepulveda, Calif, and Byron T. of ElDorado Hills, Calif; 5 daughters- Parna Etchart, Beryl Taylor and Mrs. Dick (Nyla) Merriam of Meeker, Helen Stephenson of Grand Junction and Shirley Taylor of Sepulveda, Calif; 1 brother, Jack Thompson of Sand, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Twila.

TAYLOR FAMILY

Heaven's just a little happier today,

Because Deltha Taylor wandered there to stay.

This corner of the world was saddened-

In each heart that she had gladdened.

Always a twinkle in her eye

And a cheerful word for a passerby.

A chuckle to gladden the ear

When a real good story she did hear.

She loved each one of her fellow men

And put up with their folly, now and then.

She seldom judged or would criticize.

Said maybe we would too if we knew why.

Her remedies she knew by the score

Some I'd never tried before

All of her talents she shared with others

She felt al men were her sisters and brothers.

She was famous for her gardening art

And she always liked to share a part.

No one went away hungry from her door,

She was always busy at some chore.

Her poems were justly famous

She wrote to tease or shame us.

I learned many lessons from hearing her talk

She lightened my heart as we sat down to rock.

In Heaven I'm sure all her loved one

Are happy to greet her and chat.

But in this corner she's made so delightful

We'll all miss her for this or that.

We're all just a little better

Because her life touched ours each day

And maybe we can pass it on

By sharing ourselves in that same way.

Deltha was born January 18, 1906, in Vernal, Utah, to Cyrus and Dorothy Thompson, and spent her youth in Vernal and LaPoint, Utah, graduating from high school at Vernal.  Deltha went to Brigham Young University receiving her teacher's certificate there. She taught school in the LaPoint, Utah area and the Rock School on Piceance Creek.

Deltha and Sherman Taylor were joined in marriage December 21, 1927.  To this union were born eight children.  One infant daughter preceded her in death.

In 1936 the Taylors moved to Meeker and have made their home here since that time.  Deltha and Sherman owned and operated at one time an old fashioned grocery store for 13 years here and have since operated wheat farms.

I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses and the voice I hear falling on my ear, the Son of God reposes, and he walks with me and he talks with me, and He tells me I am His own, and the joys we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.

For all who shared the joy of knowing Deltha, knew also the bounty of her world famous garden.  She shared her love to all and gave generously from her garden, kitchen and heart.  She nourished her friends, whether in her classroom or in her home, just as she grew the seeds she planted in her garden.  All who came into her heart grew and all were ever hopeful of being better, living more fully a productive life.

Deltha was also a talented musician and writer.  She sang and played the piano at church, for family entertainment and community functions.  Her poetry was received and enjoyed by all who read and received it.

Ida May Bonner Huber Ringwood was Roy's sister-in-law.  She married Roy's brother, Dean.

GRANGER- Ida B. Ringwood, 76, of Granger, died October 8, 1979 at a local hospital of natural causes.

Born February 9, 1903, Heber City, Utah, to William and Fannie May Clyde Bonner.  Married Dean Huber.  He died in 1921.  Married Harold Thomas Ringwood, June 11, 1925, Salt Lake City.  Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  He died October, 1971.  She was a housewife, member LDS Church.

Survived by: daughter and sons, Mrs. George (Deane) Martens, Friday Harbor, Washington; Hal Clyde Ringwood, Salt Lake City; Richard William Ringwood, Provo; six grandchildren; seven great  grandchildren; brothers, John Clyde Bonner, San Diego; Charles Clark Bonner, Lyman, Utah; Wayne Gather Bonner, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 noon, at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Rd., where friends may call Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, one hour prior to services.  Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.  Funeral Directors, Memorial Estates Mortuary.

Because she died in the last 50 years her death certificate will not be publicly available until around 2029.  When it's available I will post it here.

* Ida's death date conflicts in some accounts.  Her SSN record (available for viewing at ancestry.com) states Oct 1979 but Church records state it was Aug 1979.  The death certificate or another document (funeral program, etc) should clear this up.

Rites Held for Larry Huber, Accident Victim

Funeral services were held Wednesday noon at the Glines LDS Ward Chapel for Larry Huber, 28, who died Saturday in a Salt Lake hospital of injuries suffered in a car- horse accident Dec. 14 near Roosevelt.

He was born in Lapoint, May 23, 1936, a son of Roy and Vera Taylor Huber.  He attended schools in Lapoint and Roosevelt graduating from Union High School in 1954.

He was active in the FFA and had the grand champion lamb at the State Fair.

He filled a mission to the Central States from 1956 to 1958 and was ordained a Seventy and filled a stake LDS mission to Dutch John in 1960 and 1961.

Active in church affairs, he was on the Ashley Stake MIA Board, was an officer in the MIA in Lapoint, priesthood leader of the Elders and Teacher's Quorum advisor, all in Lapoint, and was teacher of the Priests in Vernal 7th Ward.

He married Theda Houston April 16, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Larry Huber Funeral Held Wed., Feb. 3
Funeral services for Larry Blaine Huber, 28, who died in a Salt Lake hospital following a car-horse accident, were held Wednesday of last week in the Glines Ward Chapel.
Services were conducted by Bishop Garth P. Batty of the Vernal 7th Ward Bishopric. Rell Swenson gave the prayer at the mortuary.
Melba Tullis played the prelude and postlude music.
Max Taylor gave the invocation.  Rex and Cynthia Taylor sang, "In the Garden".
Bishop Batty gave the obituary and remarks.  "Danny Boy" was sung by Glad Sowards.
H.S. Sowards and Wendell Johnson were the speakers.
Mr. and Mrs. Glad Sowards sang "Going Home".  Benediction was given by Coy Hayward.
Clayton S. Huber dedicated the grave and burial was in the Lapoint Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenneth, Glenn, Merlin, Marvin, Darrell and Doyle Huber, Joseph Fazzio and Wallace Pitt.  Larry's Priest class and Mac Ross were honorary pallbearers.

He was 91 years old when he passed away.

Roy's daughter, Doris, wrote this about her father's closing chapter in life (date unknown):

"In August of 1988 Dad caught a cold that seemed to linger longer than usual, so Martin took him to the doctor in Vernal and he admitted him to the hospital on August 28^th.  He steadily went downhill from there.  He said he wanted to go home to die, so I took him home on Sept 1^st.  He got so he couldn’t eat and soon dehydrated.  We took turns staying with him so mom wouldn’t be alone, as she wasn’t able to take care of him alone.  There was someone there 24 hours a day.

Doug and Rhea were serving a mission in Fair Oaks, CA and were given permission to come home and see Dad.  They arrived about 9:30 a.m. on September 21^st.  Rhea went in by the bed, and said, “Dad, it’s Rhea, I’m home”.  He opened his eyes, smiled, and nodded his head like he understood, and went into a deep sleep and peacefully passed away at 1:40 p.m. that same day.  He was 91 years old."

LAPOINT- LeRoy Huber, age 91, of Lapoint, Utah died at his home on September 21, 1988.

He was born April 1, 1897 in Midway, Utah, son of Henry Albert and Margaretha Abegglen Huber.  He married Vera Johannah Taylor October 22, 1924 at Lapoint, Utah.  Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  He was a farmer and rancher.  Veteran of World War I, U.S. Army.  He worked as a miner and a farmer and rancher.  Member of the Lapoint Ward.  Served in many positions including Lapoint Ward Bishopric and Sunday School Superintendency.  He was a great fisherman.  Leroy has been a wonderful example to his children and grandchildren.  He taught them to work hard and be good citizens.  He will be missed by all his friends and family.

Survived by his wife, Lapoint; sons and daughter, Mrs. Loris (June) Wooley, Lapoint; Mrs. Douglas (Rhea) Merkley, Heber City; Dean Huber, Vernal; Mrs. Dean (Doris) Sessions, Vernal; Dr. Clayton Huber, Provo; Martin Huber, Lapoint; Mrs. Brad (Joann) Nelson, Ioka; 41 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services Saturday, 11 a.m. in the Lapoint Ward Chapel.  Friends may call at Thomson's Vernal Mortuary, Friday 7-9 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior at the Ward Chapel.  Burial: Lapoint Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion.

LeRoy Huber, Lapoint, died at this home Sept. 21, at the age of 91.

He was born April 1, 1897 at Midway, to Henry Albert and Margaretha Abegglen Huber.  He married Vera Johanna Taylor Oct. 22, 1924 at Lapoint, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple.

He was a farmer, rancher and miner, and a veteran of WWI, U.S. Army.  He was a member of the Lapoint LDS ward, serving in many positions including the bishopric and Sunday School superintendency.  He enjoyed fishing, and taught his children how to work, and be good citizens.

"The Vacant Chair", was sung by JoAnn Nelson and Roma Jean Farnsworth, accompanied by Jeannette Nelson with remarks by Bishop Martin T. Huber.  A medley of songs were sung by the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, accompanied by Beth Huber.  Speaker was Bishop Douglas Merkley.  A violin solo was played by Valorie Farnsworth, accompanied by Roma Jean Farnsworth.  President Clayton Huber spoke.  "Love One Another", was sung by his granddaughters and great-granddaughters, accompanied by Beth Huber.  Benediction was given by Larry Murray.  Dedication was given by Dean Huber.  Interment services were in the Lapoint Cemetery.  Military honors were given by the American Legion.
Honorary Pallbearers were Glad Wooley, Kevin Merkley, Robert Merkley, Duane Huber, Rick Huber, Danny Sessions, Gary Batty, Phillip Huber, Douglas Huber, Brad Huber, Kevin Huber, Kent Nelson, Jason Nelson, Brent Nelson.
Pallbearers were Cloy Wooley, Chris Merkley, Kerry Huber, Gary Nelson, Steven Huber, Dee Sessions, Blaine Huber.
In charge of flowers was the Lapoint Ward Relief Society.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Vernal Mortuary Funeral Home.
