Dean Huber and family

Dean Albert Huber was Roy's younger brother.
He just barely lived to adulthood, so there aren't many photos on him.  The following are what I have on him and his little family that he left too soon.

Ida Huber later remarried a man by the name of Harold Thomas Ringwood, and their surviving family story goes from there.

Huber boys in photos

The following are additional photos of LeRoy Huber and his brothers, Elmer, Dean, and Frank, from various ages in life.

"baby Elmer Huber"

"Cute little Roy Huber'

"Maggie and Henry Albert Huber sons"
Far left on stool is Roy, back center is Elmer, Frank standing, and baby Dean.

From personal albums of Clayton Huber
Labeled on back as "Roy Huber's brother, Dean"
But I couldn't get exact confirmation on that.

From personal albums of Kathryn Walker
"First person is Elmer Huber, the rest is unknown"
I can identify: Elmer, ?, ?, Dean, Roy, ?
As they all have a Huber look about them, I'm betting they're cousins.
From personal albums of Kathryn Walker
"Dean, maybe Elmer, Frank"
I really doubt that's Elmer in the middle there- perhaps a cousin?

Death info on Ida B. Huber

Because Dean died a year after they were married, Ida remarried a man named Harold Thomas Ringwood a few years later.

Because she died in the last 50 years her death certificate will not be publicly available until around 2029.  When it's available I will post it here.

* Ida's death date conflicts in some accounts.  Her SSN record (available for viewing at ancestry.com) states Oct 1979 but Church records state it was Aug 1979.  The death certificate or another document (funeral program, etc) should clear this up.

Albert Dean Huber & Ida Bonner

Albert Dean (or Dean Albert?) Huber was Roy's younger brother.

He married Ida Bonner of Midway, Wasatch, Utah on 6 Jun 1921 in Duchesne County.
Thus she became Ida Bonner Huber.
Photo from the personal album of Rhea Merkley (cropped from a larger photo).
Not the best quality, but the ONLY photo I've been able to track down of these two... so I'll take it.
UPDATE: ooh, lookie what I found here:

Ida and Dean Huber

Local newspaper notice:

Newspaper notice transcribed:
Dean Huber of Midway and Miss Ida Bonner of Heber were married on Monday morning.  They will make their home at La Point.

Marriage License:
SOURCE: familysearch.org
This record tells us Albert Dean was 22 years old and Ida was 18 years old at the time.  This union is a sad one as Albert Dean died during their first year of marriage, and left Ida with an infant.  I'm sure at her age she would have remarried, but I will need to further investigate that.

Dean Huber War Service

Roy's brother Dean was a teenager when WWI started, and filled out a draft card for the service.

Dean Huber's draft card:
SOURCE: ancestry.com (Particular source info is included directly on the image to the far right.)

He was 19 years old when he registered 12 Sept 1918 in Heber City, UT

No further military records exist for Dean, likely because the war officially ended a few months after this registration card was filled out. Dean died of pneumonia 1922.

Messrs Frank and Roy Huber have returned to Duchesne after having come home to attend the funeral of their brother Dean. Others from outside our county to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Alec Gibson of Salt Lake, Mrs. Emma Gibson of Park City, Mrs. Ida Abplanalp and daughter Phyllis of Price.
Funeral services in honor of Dean Huber were held in the First ward meeting house last Friday afternoon and were well attended, a goodly number of Heber people being present. Bishop John VanWagoner presided and the speakers were Henry T. Coleman, Bishop Jacob Probst and Bishop VanWagoner. A solo, "O, My Father" was sung by Mrs. Jennie Ross, and "Face to Face" was rendered by S.N. Burgi. A quartette consisting of Karl Probst, Vern Probst, Francis Probst and Reed Probst sand two selections composed by John Huber, the grandfather of Dean. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.

Salt Lake Tribune Obituary:

Obituary transcribed:
Last Respects Paid to Native of Midway
MIDWAY, April 3. Funeral services for Dean Huber, who died in Heber last Monday of influenza-pneumonia were held in the Midway First Ward meetinghouse Friday afternoon, Bishop John VanWagoner Jr. presiding. The opening prayer was offered by George A. Huntington. Music was furnished by the combined choirs of Midway under the direction of Samuel Burgi. The speakers were Bishop Henry T. Coleman, Bishop Jacob Probst and Bishop John VanWagoner Jr. Two quartets were rendered by the Probst Brothers. The benediction was pronounced by Alfred L. Alder and the grave dedicated by Ulrich Probst.
Dean Huber was born in Midway in January 1899, the son of Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Huber, and a grandson of John Huber, one of the first settlers of Midway. The meetinghouse was crowded at the services and the floral tributes were many and beautiful. He is survived by his widowed mother and wife, Mrs. Ida Bonner Huber and one small child.
*Spelling and punctuation corrected inasmuch as my knowledge allows.

* This is an ASSUMED identification of Albert Dean Huber. The larger photograph includes Roy's parents and brothers as well, and as Dean passed away before many of Roy's children could even identify him as an uncle, I could not get a positive identification that this WAS Dean. But it is my leading conclusion that because it was a family photo, it could not logically be anyone else BUT Dean. Find original photo of the family HERE.
